Vivian Auer  “As a passionate follower of National hunt racing , I had been in a syndicate previously . What I now appreciate about being a member of the Nick Gifford racing club is the very much more personal , informative and friendly approach . From our initial visit to the stables at Findon , to gallop mornings and the race days themselves , my wife and I have been treated as if we were owners in our own right .”

How it all started !

The idea of setting up our NEW Nick Gifford Racing Club (max 30 members) was on the back of the current economic climate and also in view of some of our experience with past syndicates where when there has only been one horse, if that horse gets injured then there may be nothing for the owners to follow for months.  With our small club, if one horse is injured there are still two to follow.  Also if one horse is injured we will find a replacement to lease.

It is small enough in that everybody knows each other and everybody who has wanted a badge to go to the races has always got one (and on many occasions extra badges), we have Champagne and nibbles mornings on the gallops and regular email updates as well as dedicated section on our website.

It is a great way of like minded people getting together socially as well as being owners of special horses.  We also invite all members to visit us on their own on any day they wish with just a little bit of notice.  All members share photos and memories from the day, a lot often sharing lifts and train journeys to the racecourse.

We have had great success with previous syndicate horses including Dusky Lord who won 5 races and Digger Gets Lucky (named after Jeremy Clarkson’s dog , who has a share in Digger ) who has so far won twice and has been placed numerous times. Every syndicate horse we have trained has won.

Three of our club members also own racehorses out right but really wanted involved to have more interests to follow and have more fun.  Being part of a club means more race meetings to attend and more horses to follow.  Our recent fun with Old Dreams at Cheltenham included a free three course lunch and afternoon tea in the Owners & Trainers Marquee…a fabulous day was had by all.  All of this at the fraction of the cost of owning a racehorse outright.

To join it  is only £1250+VAT (covers the cost of purchase of the horses) , It then costs only £38 +VAT per week , all VAT is claimed back and used for the entry/jockey fees which are the only additional costs.
