Tuesday 24th May- Stable News – WINNER

We had two runners at Huntingdon.  “Givehimtime” was due to run in the 6:40Huntingdon 22 May 2018  188Bet Mobile Bet10 Get20 Novices’ Handicap Chase(Class 4) (0-120, 5yo+) (2m7f129yds) 2m7½f Good 19 fences1st £4,992.75 2nd £1,550.25 3rd £834.75.  He was fine in the paddock then we tacked him up and he had a very funny turn, so we shouted the vets and took him out the public eye in the grass field and untacked him and walked him around and he was absolutely fine.  So we tacked him up again and the same thing happened again , so we obviously decided he was not fit to race.  We have the vet having  look at him right now, its almost like something was catching him and the added wait of the saddle exaggerated it.  So we will see, they are animals and not machines and the most important thing is he is absolutely fine , he travelled home well and has eaten up and trotted up fine this morning.

It was a very strange evening with this first of all happening and then hearing about the horrific fall that “Fergus Gregory” the jockey took in the race.  All our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family  to make a full recovery.  Initial news on The Racing Post suggests he is stable and is in the best of hands.

So then we had “Canyouringmeback” running in the 7:40Huntingdon 22 May 2018Champions League Final Betting At 188Bet Handicap Chase(Class 4) (0-110, 5yo+) (2m3f189yds) 2m4f Good 16 fences 1st £4,613.58 2nd £1,354.68 3rd £677.34 4th £350 5th £350.  James Davies took the ride and what a brilliant ride he gave him, never panicking when the leaders went off too quick, “Canyouringmeback” ran a cracker to finish 1st !!!!  His jumping was not quite as fluent as last time over the longer trip, but heh! he did the job and stayed on very well to win nicely.  It is great for the yard and team to have our first winner on the boards for this season.  “Canyouringmeback” AKA “Sparky” named for obvious reasons will be going out to the paddocks this afternoon and very shortly will be turned out on the round ( a huge field full of lush grass )  with his other racehorse friends for a very well deserved break and to work on his tan.  We have a lot to look forward to with this horse next season.

Both horses were led up by Vova our amazing Head of Gallops /Work Rider and Keirsten and Horsemove getting them there safely .

Well Done team.
