Stable News- 29th December

I hope everyone has had a fabulous Christmas and are looking forward to New Year’s Eve.  All the horses that ran at Fontwell on Boxing day have come out of there races fine.  Brown Bear had top weight and hated the ground , it is getting to that time of year he does not like the ground, so Leighton was not hard on him.  We will now wait for better ground for him.

Jebs Gamble ran a cracker, a truly consistent horse to finish third and the new recruit “CanIringyouback” ran a cracker to finish second in the novice hurdle.    “Notre Ami” also ran a blinder to finish second , his first time in handicap company .  “Alka Step” probably still wants a bit further and did not enjoy the ground.  He is going to be a chaser and still is a bit deliberate over his fences.

The horses are all running well and all connections had a great day.

Tomorrow we have one runner ” Snowy Oscar” at Newbury in the 2m½f (2m69y) Betfred “Supports Jack Berry House” Introductory Hurdle.  He will be ridden by Leighton Aspell.  It is only his second time on the track, we think a lot of him at home, but he needs to learn to settle and relax.  We have taken our time with him and are in no doubt he is a talented horse but he is still quite buzzy.  We will learn a lot more about him tomorrow .  Leighton will be able to tell us a lot more after tomorrow.

The photo is of “Snowy Oscar” , he is a stunning 4 year old gelding by Oscar.
