29th December – Stable News

So today we have one runner at Newbury.  “Hawkerland” runs in the  12.40 Newbury  Betway ‘Introductory’ Hurdle Saturday 29th December 2018 Distance: 2m 69yGoing: Good to Soft.  Hawkerland is a new recruit for our yard owned by “The Willlow and Bridle Partnership”.  He was bought at the end of flat season horses in training sales out of the Marcus Tregoning stables.  he is 5years old and was a fairly useful handicapper for Marcus although has not run since July due to a niggle.  He has settled in at home well and today is his first run over hurdles.  So it is all about a good round of jumping and see how he takes to the switch to hurdles.  He is a very nicely bred individual by Sea the Stars and this is just the very beginning of his journey with us.  Good Luck and here is to a positive clear round of jumping.  Jamie Moore is taking the ride and we look forward to learning so much more about the horse today.

We are scratching our heads a bit with the two runners yesterday. ” Canyouringmeback” AKA Sparky was disappointing and it may be just that he needs to come back down in the handicap and is running in too hot races. We will see if any thing comes to light in the next few days. It may also be that he is a Spring Summer horse.

‘Black lightning” was also disappointing and is not showing the same encouraging form he has showed in his bumpers. At least now he will get a handicap mark and will run in handicap company.
