So the journey begins, Stunning ” Oden” owned by Mrs Sarah Cotty had his first run for us over hurdles after been bought at the sales out of the Roger Varian Stable in the November sales.  He has taken a little time to settle in and find his feet and today was all about education.  Who better on board then Leighton Aspell.  We new the ground would not be ideal, but Leighton was thrilled with his run where he finished 5th ( just missed out on 4th) in soft ground.  Ideally Oden will want good or good-soft ground .  He did over- jump the first hurdle and was a bit keen early on which meant he got a bit tired in the closing stages, but he ran a very pleasing first run.  Leighton said he will really come on for the run as he was having a good blow afterwards and that they went a proper gallop in tiring soft ground, that was starting to dry out abit so was quite holding.   He has only just turned 4 and so will have a good three-four weeks before he runs again.  He is a very exciting prospect and there is plenty to build on from this run.
