23rd October- Stable News

A wet, windy but wonderful day at The Moorcroft Ex- racehorse charity Raceday at Plumpton.  My wife Ruth sits on the committee and every year we get a couple of tables together for a great day out.  We also had two runners in the shetland race ( The Gifford Flyer was the Winner1) and two of our own runners.

”Jebs Gamble’  ran an absolute cracker with top weight.  Leighton took the ride and was thrilled with him, he just made a little mistake at the second last which cost him a couple of places.  He is not the biggest horse but is so tough, genuine and consistent.  We very much look forward to his next run.  he finished 4 th and was led up by Vova.

‘Theo’s Charm’ also ran a cracker with top weight in the handicap chase,  Tom Cannon took the ride and was very pleased with his performance.  He had a good blow afterwards and will really come on for his run.  This was his prep race for Haydock at the end of November.  Another genuine, consistent horse with a big heart, Theo’s was led up by Lenka.

All connections were very pleased with the performances.

We also had one runner at Windsor, Party Royal who was ridden by his owner.  He ran on to finish 5th, in slightly softer conditioned then he would like.

The day made in excess of £65,000 for the Moorcroft Ex-racehorses, and our owners were very generous in their support for the day.
