Today we had one runner at Towcester.  Cashanova a stunning 6 year old gelding by ” Arcadio” was ridden by Mitchell Bastyan in the toteplacepot Maiden Hurdle (Novices’ Championship Hurdle Series Qualifier), he finished 8th out of 15 .  He ran a solid race, Mitchell Bastyan was very pleased with the way he travelled and jumped, he just did not get up the Towcester hill.  It does not suit every horse, we will look for another race in a couple of weeks on a flatter track and may also think about stepping him up in trip too.  Andrew Tony Veale our head lad led him up.

Tomorrow we have three runners at Ascot.  ”Puppet Warrior” a 5 year old gelding by “Black Sam Bellamy ”  runs in the 12.45 eventmasters.co.uk Maiden Hurdle.  Puppet Warrior is a tough , consistent performer who has been 2nd four times and 3rd once.  We are looking for another positive run.  Leighton Aspell takes the ride.

Then we have “The Mighty Don” a 5 year old gelding by ”Shantou” who is running  in the 15.05 2 mile 5 Ascot Mitie Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle and will be ridden by Mitchell Bastyan who will also take a valuble 5 lbs of his back.   The Mighty Don is a talented young horse that has won two races and been placed 3 times also.  He is a big horse that is still bit green but we are looking for a positive run tomorrow and to learn bit more about him.  He ran at Cheltenham last time out and the ground went against him, he was not quite strong enough to cope with it.  So hopefully the ground will suit him better tomorrow.

Our last runner of the day is “didtheyleaveuoutto” a stunning 4 year old Presenting gelding who we think is very special and is owned by JP McManus.  He won his bumper in impressive style at Lindfield , his only ever time on the racecourse.  He runs in the “St Andrews Holdings Championship Standard Open NH Flat Race (Listed)”.   So we will be learning a lot more about him tomorrow.  Whether he handles the ground, the track and what he thinks of is second time of racing.  Barry Geraghty takes the ride.  Fingers crossed for another good run.
