20th January – Stable News

Today we had two runners, one at Taunton and one at Lindfield on the flat.

Notre Ami a stunning 7 year old dark brown gelding by Kalanisi went to Taunton and ran in the Bathwick Tyres British EBF “National Hunt” Novices’ Hurdle (Qualifier)(Class 4) (4-7yo) (2m3f1yds) 2m3f Soft 10 hurdles, he was ridden by Tom Cannon and finished a brilliant second.  So he has now qualified for the EBF final.  He still is quite a buzzy horse and needs to learn to settle.  He was second at Fontwell on Boxing Day too.  He has plenty of ability and scope and the best of him will come over fences.  He is a big horse.  Notre Ami was led up by our Head Lad Andrew Tony Veale.

We also had a runner on the flat at Lindfield.  “Give him time” was ridden by Timmy Murphy in the Betway Casino Maiden Stakes(Class 5) (4yo+) 1m4f Standard,  he was out the back for most of the way and looked to be out paced a bit , but then flew at the finish to get third place.  Timmy said he needs a bit further, so we will look for other races on the flat while the ground is as it is .  A promising run.  “Givehimtime” is owned by Tracy Brown.
